The old year has ended and a new year has begun. The old system has been changed to a new system. We are amending or repealing laws that are not in accord with the new era and system. At the same time the Hluttaw is enacting laws that benefit the people, protect their basic human rights, providing for both physical and mental security. We will exert our mental and physical efforts to the utmost to fulfill the duties assigned to us by the people.
May the people also cooperate and participate with the Hluttaw in establishing a democracy federal union. May they enjoy the full human rights and achieve the full benefit of unity and peace. May the Republic of the Union of Myanmar be peaceful and become developed. May the people be happy and well on the occasion of the New Year.
