The Pyithu Hluttaw.entered its 32nd day session, approving the bills to revoke the People’s Council Law and State Council Law with no objection on May 25, 2016.
During a Q & A session, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Fesheries Dr Tun Win replied and Fisheries Dr Tun Win replied that 2,526 arcrs if Wet Toe farmland that has 3,726 acres in totoal wil be set aside for local farmers to use.
The ministry plans to produce quality producets from 1,200 acres in porducets from the private sector, added the deputy minister.
He insisted the the 3,726 acre Wet Toe farmland was established by the government without confiscationg any land from farmers. Regarding the conservation fo Moegok lake, the deputy minister said that the lake’s water storage capacity increased from 203 acres to 600 acres after silt dredging and related works with the use of K1.9 billion from the special fund.
Fruther works on sustainability of the lake include the repairing of the spillway and its drainage system, works that will be undertaken by the Township Development Department and supporting committess.
