The Pyithu Hluttaw entered its 31st day session with a question and answer session on the construction sector on 24 May, 2016. In his response to a question on road construction in Rakhine State, Union Minister U Win Khaing said that a motorway connecting Rambre Township to Laytaung station will be upgraded into an all-weather road at the end of the 2018-2019 FY with the use of annual funds. Likewise, the Union minister replied to a question regarding the Monywa-Thekkalgyin-Phaungpyin-Homalin-Khamti motorway and said that Ye U-Kalewa road section on the motorway will be upgraded into a 19-mile concrete road and 61-mile and three-furlong tarred road at the end of 2016-2017 FY. Road upgrades including the construction of bridges and retaining walls on the 464-mile and three-furlong Monywa-Khamti motorway are being carried out with the use of the Union budget and regional government’s fund, said the Union minister. During the 31st day session of Pyithu Hluttaw, Speaker U Win Myint announced that the Pyithu Hluttaw received a bill revoking the state protection law sent from Amyotha Hluttaw with no amendment.
