Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann, together with Chief Minister of Bago Region U Nyan Win and officials, inspected flood prevention tasks in Monyo Township in Bago Region. First, the speaker met with flood victims in Thayetgon Village in Minhla Township and attended to their needs. Then, the speaker and party attended the meeting of government departments, social organizations and local people and urged them to exert effort to prevent the embankment of the Ayeyawady River from being damaged by floods. Thura U Shwe Mann also thanked volunteer organizations from other parts of the country that help strengthen the embankment of the Ayeyawady. He also greeted the local people warmly.
