Speaker of Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and the Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann met with US Senator Mr Mitch Mc Connell at the Capitol Hill in Washington D.C on 30 April.
Present at the meeting were chairmen and members of Hluttaw committees U Hla Myint Oo, Dr Win Myint, U Win Than and U Thein Tun and officials.
At the invitation of Speaker of the House of Representatives of the US Mr John Boehner, Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and the Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann left for the United State on 29 April evening and arrived at Incheon International Airport in eoul, Korea, on 30 April morning.
The speaker and party were greeted at the airport by Myanmar Ambassador to South Korea U Soe Lwin and embassy staff.
Then, the speaker proceeded to the US and arrived at Dulles International Airport in Washington D.C on 30 April morning.
The speaker and party were welcomed by Myanmar Ambassador to the US U Kyaw Myo Htut and embassy staff at the airport.
