Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and Pyithu Hluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann returned to Myanmar on 29 April following his visit to China.
The trip included a visit to the Lingguang Temple, where the speaker paid homage to the Buddha Tooth Relic Stupa.
The 1,200-year-old Buddhist temple is situated at the foot of the capitals Western Hills, and it features eight Buddhist temples and monasteries scattered across the slopes.
The speaker met Liu Yunshan, the current member of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party, at the People’s Great Hall in Beijing, and discussed development programmes and promotion of bilateral relation.
Thura U Shwe Mann also visited Kunming, capital and largest city of Yunnan Province, Southwest China.
Along with Communist Party of China International Department Vice-Minister Chen Fengxiang, the Myanmar delegation visited an employment agency and modern agricultural firm in Chenggong district.
