A delegation led by Mr Alexander C Feldman, chairman of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), called on Thura U Shwe Mann, Speaker of the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw and the Lower House, at Zabuthiri Hall of the Parliament Building on Thursday, sources said.
They discussed matters related to investments and cooperation for economic growth. The speaker of the Lower House formed a 24-member commission in line with the authority entrusted to him to ensure the emergence of a democratic system deemed attunedto the country.
The Commission for Observation of the Electoral System Fit for the Republic of the Union of Myanmar held a meeting at the Lower House Building here on Thursday, sources said. According to officials, the commission has appointed U Tin Maung Oo of Shwepyitha constituency as chairman, U Thein Tun Oo of Amarapura constituency as secretary, and U Than Win of Taungdwingyi constituency as joint secretary.
