In the Pyidaungsu Hluttaw’sThursday session,Speaker of PyidaungsuHluttaw Thura U Shwe Mann said that since 8 August2012, the investigationcommission has been conductingthe investigationfor sufferings of the people in land confiscations.
Thus,the understanding couldbe built between the peopleand the government to some extent. He urged thecommission to take its responsibilityfor the interestof the people not to suffer loss in confiscation of farmlandsuntil the PyidaungsuHluttaw releases any orderfor the commission.
The investigation commission submitted its report that a plan is underway to coordinate presentation of compensation to 40 persons who submitted the related ownership documents for 409.54 acres of farmlands that were included in the Punhlaing Golf Course housing project in Hlinethaya Township. Likewise,farming rights certificates were issued to 71 farmersfor 645.56 acres of farmlandsthat were includedin the forest reserve area inGwa Township of Rakhine State.
According to the approval of the PyidaungsuHluttaw, the decisions ofthe Hluttaw and reports of the commission will be sent to the Union government,departments and organizationsconcerned.On Thursday’s Lower House session, Deputy Minister at the President Office Ministry U Aung Thein said that K660 million fund was allotted to upgrading of 12 feet wide Haka-Thantlang-Sasichauk Road to the 24 feet wide one according to the decision of the Chin State road/bridge construction coordinating meeting on 22 May.
The road plays a key role in border trade between Chin State and India and the artery for Thantlang and Haka of Chin State. Deputy Minister for Livestock, Fisheries and Rural Development U Tin Ngwe said that the Department of Rural Development will recruit 3,202 staff in 2014-15 fiscal year for implementation of its tasks and the department is using 89 heavy machinery in its tasks. Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Department of Rural Development provided 37 heavy machinery for the dry region rural water supply five-year project (2012-2017). The Lower House approved the second amendment of bill amending the Union judicial law and the bill amending the limitation act.
