With the donations of Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann and wife Daw Khin Lay Thet and wellwishers, a ceremony to novitiate 577 boys with eight pre-requisites is being held from 3 to 6 April in Zeyathiri Township.
A total of 167 boys were novitiated in Kyitaungkan Village on 3 April, 97 boys in Kyaukchet Village on 4 April and 195 boys in Yezin Village on 5 April.
On Monday, a ceremony to novitiate 118 boys will take place at Weikza Theikpan monastery in Nan-Aw Village.
From 3 to 6 April, meals were offered to Buddhist monks and served to local people.
The ceremonies were also attended by Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann, wife Daw Khin Lay Thet, well-wishers and officials of Hluttaw Office together with local residents.
